The Conference Is Over, What’s Next?

On May 9, the Conference on the Future of Europe was ceremoniously closed.
For a year, citizens of the European Union were asked what the EU of tomorrow should look like. Hundreds of thousands took part in this historic democratic project, discussing their ideas, meeting with other Europeans and formulating recommendations on nine topics that represent the current challenges of EU.

Now that the report on the final outcome of the Conference on the future of Europe has been handled to the three main institutions, what’s next? It is clear to all that the debate must not stop. It is only the beginning of a process that needs even more citizen participation.

How exactly this process will look like and what is planned as a follow-up are the main questions we are going to reply to with Richard Corbett, who is a member of Conference on the Future of Europe Common secretariat.
